After 3 years of domestic success, its a hard time for Chelsea, for they have finished the season without a single trophy, not even the community shield.
Maybe trophies speak more than just mere footballing talent, but I still think that this has been Chelsea’s best season for years.
Trophy-less? So what, they have managed three 2nd place finishes this season, starting with the meager Carling Cup, The BPL, and finally the Champions League yesterday night.
But there’s nothing to forget this season except for the fact that Chelsea is no more 2nd to anyone.
Inspite of all my efforts, I couldn’t help but cry. I never wept even after watching the most tragic of the movies, but this was a totally different emotion altogether.

I feel sorry for all the Chelsea who played out of their skins the whole season inspite of a series of injuries and disasters, the biggest being Mourinho being sacked.
Truly speaking I did hate Avram in the beginning. Maybe because I still couldn’t move on with special one’s departure.
I don’t remember Chelsea conceding more than 3 goals in a game for several years now( in fact it was Arsenal who last managed to do so, and that was in 2002), except for this season. Not once, not twice, but three times Chelsea conceded 4 goals in a game.
But now I do realize how restricted and psychologically weak Chelsea were under Mourinho. For if at all Chelsea went down by a goal or two, they never ever came back and certainly lost the game without even posing a fight.
But things changed this season, may or may not be because of Avram. I remember Chelsea coming back from a deficit and rescuing and even winning a game.
Under Mourinho Chelsea players were made to believe that success is coming only because of Mourinho’s magical influence and that in its absence, they would stumble. Avram made the players forget this fact and accept it as a myth. He made them believe that it is they who are architects of their destiny, their success or failure. I can say this was Avram’s biggest success this season. How many times have you Chelsea winning a penalty shootout under Mourinho, none. Under Avram? They only lost once, although at the most crucial stage, but still 5 players out of 7 converted which is still a good enough ratio.
Perhaps Avram’s biggest blunders this season were his miscalculated substitutions in the Carling Cup final and signing Nicholas Anelka from Bolton(this didn’t do good for Bolton or Chelsea).
But otherwise this season was ne every Chelsea fan should be proud of, and we can certainly expect something sensational the next season, for Manchester United can’t grow any stronger than this and Chelsea can’t get any weaker.
Can’t wait for next the season!
Hail Chelsea, I’ll always love you!!!
